What you can do
Quick character creator
Pick an ancestry and class and see a stylized 3D figure that breathes and moves, in Storybook or Heroic style. Print a character sheet as a PDF.
Rules reference and dice
Search the included rules reference while you play, and roll animated dice with sound.
Nearby play
Players join from nearby devices with your approval. Players see what you reveal; your notes and secrets stay on your device.
Beginner mode
Beginner mode is on by default. Play with an adult.

Data and privacy
- Stays on your device: Adventures, heroes, notes and game-master secrets.
- Leaves your device: Only the parts you reveal to players at your table, sent directly to their devices over nearby Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. No internet needed.
- Never collected: No account, ads, tracking or analytics.

Questions people ask
How many players can join?
Up to six players, each on their own iPhone or iPad in the same room.
Do players need the app?
Yes. Each player installs Pocket DM and joins your table. You approve each one.
Is it for younger players?
Beginner mode is on by default. Younger players should play with an adult. The planned age rating is 13+, subject to the App Store questionnaire.
Which rules does it use?
It includes System Reference Document 5.2.1 under a Creative Commons license. See Credits and legal below.
Can I change the art?
Pick Storybook or Heroic for your 3D heroes. You can also import compatible art packs.
