Republic in the Mountains
Forthcoming · Date to be announced
Puerto Rico, 1950. Police turn speeches and employment cards into evidence. Printers and drivers carry people and testimony into the mountains while families argue over who should leave, who should stay, and whether the next delivery will save anyone or expose them.
The uprising depends on ordinary routes: a truck that still runs, a press that can be moved, a house whose neighbors know when not to look. Arrests close one route after another. Families shelter the people still on the road, unsure when it will be their own door the police come to.
